Drawing requested by Staticlights for asoiaf_artx

Just after Jaime's "escape" and he's ragging on Brienne relentlessly, she in return, keeps calling him a kingslayer. (Staticlights requested "a scene from when they were on the road--I'd rather them be snarky than fluffy".)

I'm happy to draw Jaime and Brienne being canon, but this was hard! Mostly because I've never had much luck drawing Jaime as the sexpot he is described in the books - but this scene is worse than normal as he's shaven headed, with a ragged unkempt beard and not looking his best after dungeon confinement and prison food. Someone else might have better luck making him still look sexy - but not me!

Warnings: Grotty-looking Jaime.

Nice one, especially Brienne, she looks like the idea I had of her. But for Jaime, even with his head shaved and wounded, he is described as attractive (Brienne reminds him at that moment "half-corpse, half-god" :XD: ) yours looks a bit too old maybe. A handsome man is still handsome even with shaved hair and a beard I think ^^

It's like the actor in Hitman ^^ he had to shave his hair but still looks handsome :) > [link]

my favorite part is the horse's expression. He looks like a parent stuck in a car with arguing children.

Horses will do that though! They nose right in when you're trying to have an intense conversation!

Ehehe I love the title and how you did Brienne. She looks plain but you can still tell she's female.. most of the Brienne fanart I've seen you can't. ._.

Thankyou! I go to a lot of trouble to make my Brienne look "right."

Should have put that warning at the top...But I really love how you make Brienne just look pretty plain, and not brutishly ugly. She's not supposed to be. Just freckly and plain and big. Huzzah!
Honestly, that Jaime will haunt me. Oh, it's accurate, but it'll just linger in my dreams.

I've got a great reference person for Brienne, a female rugby player. She's strong, thickly muscled (not the skinny muscle of a runner, dancer or even boxer - the burly muscle of a rugby player) "plain" but has a lovely open and honest look to her face. Perfect Brienne ref!

YES that is a perfect sort of ref. Good job finding that!

I like it.... And Jaime is allowed to look grotty i think after his escape from Riverrun! Not that I think you drew him grottily! I do think however you have drawn a very Tywinish Jaime and who knows maybe in the books without hair he looks like a younger version of Tywin! = )

Hints of Tywin. :) Maybe we'll see that in the next book. (If it ever comes out!)
